Deicorp's founder and Chairman Fouad Deiri said he was delighted to turn the first sod on the new development, which will form part of the Hills Showground Station Project.
"Hills Showground Village will bring a new level of convenience for its residents and the local community, with its easy access to cafes, restaurants, retail and supermarkets, green spaces and a public plaza, all within 100 metres from the Metro Station," said Mr Deiri.
"Hills Showground Village will include stylish apartments with spectacular district views only a short walk from one of Sydney's most significant public transport connections, the Sydney Metro Northwest."
The Hills Showground Village will comprise of four 20-level residential towers that will sit on top of a three-level retail precinct including a supermarket, eateries, cafes, specialty shops and commercial space. The project will include one, two and three-bedroom apartments with spectacular views of the Cattai Creek green corridor and will adjoin a village plaza that will directly link the Hills Showground Metro Station with the rest of the precinct.
Designed to promote well-being in its residents, the apartments in the Hills Showground Village will include flexible oversized living spaces that spill out into generous outdoor areas and gardens.
Hills Showground Station Project Enhances the Garden Shire – Fouad Deiri – Deicorp CEO
While the development will bring a new vibrant way of life to the precinct, Mr Deiri said it would embrace the Hills area’s reputation as Sydney’s ‘Garden Shire’.
“The Hills Showground Village has been designed in a way to create a walkable and outdoor lifestyle for its residents to enjoy the green spaces and parklands that the Hills district is noted for,” he said.
The precinct will include native vegetation, herb gardens, and a new tree canopy, which will be maximised over the communal play spaces, BBQ areas and podium garden areas to provide more shade and comfort during the summer months.
The development will have a 5-Star Green Star "as built" design rating, ensuring owners benefit from highly energy and water efficient apartments and a building that provides comfort via natural and passive means of cooling and heating.
Connectivity to Transport Hubs is a Deicorp Priority – Fouad Deiri
It is Deicorp's second Landcom and Sydney Metro project, with work well-underway on the first project, a 987-unit mixed-use project at Tallawong, which also sits on the doorstep of the Northwest Metro.
"Hills Showground Village will continue Deicorp's strong track record of delivering transport-connected projects," said Mr Deiri.
The project will also contribute to the supply of housing suitable for key workers such as teachers, nurses and emergency services personnel with five per cent of its apartments to be delivered as affordable housing.
Deicorp's relentless focus on delivering transport-connected developments has seen it grow over the past two decades to be one of the leading apartment builders in Australia, with the value of its projects last year putting it in the top 10 of all construction companies in the country.
iCIRT Rating Tool Accreditation Offers Buyers Peace of Mind – Fouad Deiri – Deicorp Founder
As the first developer in the state to be rated under the NSW Government's Independent Construction Industry Rating Tool (iCIRT), Deicorp has also enjoyed its best year of sales with more than 1,150 apartments sold in the past 12 months.
The overall Hills Showground Precinct will include 1,620 homes, 14,000 square metres of retail, commercial and community space, new open green spaces, a neighbourhood park and the Castle Hill Showground.
Trains from Hills Showground run every 10 minutes and take 24 minutes to travel to Chatswood.
When Landcom appointed Deicorp to develop the Showgrounds site, it stated: “Our vision for the site is for a thriving local mixed-use centre that provides a walkable, lively place to live and play, with diverse housing options for different generations and lifestyles.”
With Deicorp turning the first sod on the site, that vision is closer to being realised.
